The Lost Hat at Recess

Mia: Oh no, my blue hat is missing. I had it at recess. Where is it? Have you seen my hat? I need it because the wind is cold today.

Tom: Let’s look for it. Maybe it is in the playground. Did you leave it on a chair, or under your desk? We can check the places you used this morning.

Mia: I checked the playground and the bench. It is not there. I think I had it near the classroom door when we lined up.

Tom: Okay, we can ask simple questions. Could it be in the classroom? Maybe it fell off when you ran inside after recess. Did you carry anything else?

Mia: That sounds possible. I was in a hurry because recess ended. I did not notice the hat after that. I was thinking about our game.

Tom: Let’s go back and look under the desk and next to the chair. There is a small chance it is there. We should check one place at a time.
