Pico: Sports day was about to start, and I was excited. Then I looked in the classroom for our water bottle, and it was gone. “Have you seen it?” I asked Mina. We needed it before the relay race.
Mina: I looked on the desk, under the chair, and near the bag rack. Nothing. “Hmm, it might be in the hall,” I said. “Let’s check there first, then maybe ask the other classmates politely.”
Pico: We walked to the hall and asked, “Have you seen a blue water bottle?” A boy pointed to the bench and said it was there a minute ago. “Great clue,” Mina said. “Let’s look around carefully.”
Mina: Behind the bench, we found only a towel and two jumping ropes. I frowned. “That was a good guess, but it’s not here.” Pico smiled and said, “Could it be near the starting line?”
Pico: At the starting line, the teams were lining up. I asked another classmate, “Could you help us? Our water bottle is missing.” She nodded and said, “Maybe someone moved it to keep it safe.”
Mina: “That makes sense,” I said. “Let’s check the classroom one more time.” We hurried back, looking in simple places. On the teacher’s shelf, there were markers, books, and a small basket. But not the bottle.
Pico: I tried to think clearly. “It might be on the window sill,” I said, “or under the table.” Mina checked the window. I checked the table. We were being careful, polite, and calm, even though we were in a hurry.
Mina: Then I laughed. “Wait! There’s a blue bottle on the sports day clipboard table.” Pico blinked. “On the clipboard table?” We ran over, and yes, there it was, standing next to the score sheet.
Pico: “So that’s where it was!” I said. “Someone probably moved it when they were organizing the team papers.” Mina picked it up and checked the lid. “It’s still full. Perfect for the relay race.”
Mina: We carried it back together. “Today we used useful English,” I said. “Have you seen it? It might be here. Let’s check there.” Pico grinned. “And asking politely really helped.”
Pico: The whistle blew, and we joined our team with the bottle ready. The race began, and we cheered. A small problem had turned into a good lesson: clear English, calm teamwork, and one very well-found water bottle.

Mina: روی میز، زیر صندلی و نزدیک جالباسیِ کیف‌ها را نگاه کردم. هیچ‌چیز نبود. گفتم: «هوم، ممکن است در راهرو باشد. اول برویم آنجا را چک کنیم، بعد شاید از بقیهٔ همکلاسی‌ها مؤدبانه بپرسیم.»
Pico: به راهرو رفتیم و پرسیدیم: «بطری آب آبی را دیده‌اید؟» یک پسر به نیمکت اشاره کرد و گفت همین یک دقیقه پیش آنجا بوده است. مینا گفت: «سرنخ خوبی است. بیایید با دقت اطراف را بگردیم.»
Mina: پشت نیمکت فقط یک حوله و دو طنابِ پرش پیدا کردیم. اخم کردم. «حدسمان خوب بود، اما اینجا نیست.» پیکو لبخند زد و گفت: «ممکن است نزدیک خط شروع باشد؟»
Pico: در خط شروع، تیم‌ها داشتند صف می‌کشیدند. از یک همکلاسی دیگر پرسیدم: «ممکن است به ما کمک کنی؟ بطری آبمان گم شده.» او سر تکان داد و گفت: «شاید کسی آن را جابه‌جا کرده تا امن بماند.»

Mina: بعد خندیدم. «صبر کن! یک بطری آبی روی میزِ برگه‌های روز ورزش هست.» پیکو پلک زد. «روی میزِ برگه‌ها؟» دویدیم آنجا و بله، همان‌جا بود، کنار برگهٔ امتیازها.
Pico: گفتم: «پس اینجا بوده!» «احتمالاً کسی وقتی داشت برگه‌های تیم را مرتب می‌کرد آن را جابه‌جا کرده.» مینا آن را برداشت و درِ آن را چک کرد. «هنوز پر است. برای مسابقهٔ دو امدادی عالی است.»
Mina: با هم آن را برگرداندیم. گفتم: «امروز از انگلیسیِ مفید استفاده کردیم. Have you seen it? It might be here. Let’s check there.» پیکو لبخند زد. «و مؤدبانه پرسیدن واقعاً کمک کرد.»
Pico: سوت زده شد و ما با بطری آماده به تیممان پیوستیم. مسابقه شروع شد و برایشان تشویق کردیم. یک مشکل کوچک به یک درس خوب تبدیل شده بود: انگلیسیِ واضح، همکاریِ آرام، و یک بطری آب که خیلی خوب پیدا شد.
